our services

The diversity of skills and experiences within the Big Sky team means that we are able to provide solutions and strategies to support a wide range of outcomes. Initially, we will meet with you to discuss your perceived needs.  This conversation will help us ensure that the coach, facilitator or trainer that works with you is a great 'fit'.  We will then work alongside you to design the most effective coaching solution for yourself or your business.

It's recommended that individuals and teams engage in regular monthly coaching for a period of at least six months. Coaching sessions lasting one and a half to two hours are offered, as applicable. We offer the following suite of services:

workshops

Bespoke coaching programs and workshops are developed in consultation with the

organisation. Costing and delivery location of these programs and workshops (ranging in

duration from 4 hours to multiple days) is dependent on the business needs, length of the

program and number of participants. This will be discussed during the initial meeting.

Tools for Exceptional Outcomes

An energetic two-day workshop specifically geared to women working in the corporate sector, recognising the complex challenges of keeping multiple plates spinning while balancing and integrating life and work, including work performance and happiness.

Participants will explore:

  • what this tweak looks like and its potential impact on the big picture of work and life alignment and integration

  • limiting beliefs

  • the challenges of being authentic

  • mindfulness and being present in the big picture

  • strengths assessment and acceptance

  • their inherent 'go-to' role in the greater team

  • the impact their own personal story has on the way they communicat; and

    • commit to a plan of action.

A post-workshop individual coaching session (approx. 1.5 hours) can be included in the costing.

Build a Team with Grit!

debra's bio

about Debra

the team

ENERGY, creativity, curiosity, intuition and innovation… these are qualities that I live, in both my personal world and my business worlds of Business and Transformational Coaching.  I embrace authenticity, change and growth, and particularly value supporting individuals and organisations who are hungry for transformational change, because I believe that magic happens during significant change, and the transition leap of faith often needs support and a sounding board. I have survived my own career and personal metamorphisms: interpreter and translator, writer, small business owner, L & D manager, roller derby, riding a motorbike, playing in a rock band… and I realised that I was fascinated by change.  And in particular, what drives the buy-in and affects the outcomes. Transformation begins with a strong vision.  And the yellow brick road to that vision is paved with knowing where the connections and synapses are;  then develop the strategy, and identify what drives all the cogs and narrative of the business or individual in order to buy into the strategy and push through adversity during big transition, towards growth, at all levels.

I consider that organisational future leaders are the lynch pin to business transformation and growth, and believe there is enormous value in coaching in this space – transitioning from a transactional mindset to one of people and culture; removing the silo mentality and opening the door for authentic conversations to happen.

I choose this genre of coaching because it completely resonates with me.  And I do it because it works.

  • draw on evidence-based and pscyh coaching frameworks and theories; and

  • employ tools that promote client self-exploration, including strengths-based assessments such as the VIA StrengthsFinder.

Passionate about bringing a sense of autonomy and self-determination into the individual’s drive for high performance and improvement, I specialise in leadership coaching, mentoring and training, and designing and delivering behavioural change management, motivational, and professional/personal development team coaching workshops.

Big Sky coaches, facilitators and trainers are committed to the company ethos of supporting transformation, high performance, happiness and growth, and live these qualities and values in their own personal and professional lives.

Debra Brook
Founder and Principal

The corporate world is transforming.  Happiness and balance are now acknowledged as significant predictors of successful onboarding, staff retention and succession planning, and  I'm a believer that we don't live our life in silos - it's a big picture.

I am passionate about experiencing happiness while keeping all the plates spinning in my own life - that's why I do what I do.  A Business and Transformation Coach (Masters UOW, 2016), I will work with you, your senior managers, and your teams, to make sure you have a foundation to launch from, a clear goal to shoot for, and a strategy to get you there.

Stefanie King
Associate Coach & Team Architect

Working in the accounting and taxation industry for the past ten years, has proven to me that businesses benefit from alliances.  Alliances provide perspective, goal definition, and enhanced capabilities.  New alliances promote values-based, targeted conversations around three questions:

  • What’s important to you and your organisation?

  • What makes that important? and

  • What does that give you?

I have a Masters in Business Coaching, and see coaching as an alliance.  This working alliance provides dedicated time to identify your values and move forward while aligning them to your work/life.  Coaching is important to me because I like people and am curious about the different things they value.  Understanding diversity in people gives me a sense of connection to something larger than myself.

David Brook
Business Analyst & Process Architect

I’m curious about the connections and cogs that drive organisations. I’ve worked in government for more than ten years, and specialise in taking a bird’s eye view of systems and processes, breaking them down to the lowest denominator, then analysing and interpreting the findings against current business outcomes to identify the gaps and challenges.

Often before any coaching begins, a taxonomy analysis is a great way for the business to take a giant step back and see how the pieces connect and fit together, and where the focus on coaching should be. When I’m not analysing and coding, I’m on my Bandit, escaping the city for a bit of fresh air and country life.

Kristy Archer
Associate Business Analyst & Systems Architect

I find fulfilment in helping organisations design and implement major change programmes that improve performance, build capabilities, and strengthen behaviour. I am an experienced business analyst, facilitator and trainer, with many years of experience working with and energising groups via in-house and public training.

I love the balance and benefits that come with integrating a wholistic, healthy lifestyle and business committments - show me a mountain, and I'll show you how to scale it, run it, bike it - just get up there and enjoy the view!  Based in stunning Christchurch, I'm the Kiwi contingency of the big sky family.  New experiences and travel are passions of mine verging on addiction. “One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” ― Henry Miller.
